Two musical layers run through the year. (i) Intimate chamber performances by current IPO musicians punctuate the walks at historic stops. (ii) A strand of live contemporary adaptations — newly arranged readings of pieces from the original 1936 inaugural programme and other works reflecting on the orchestra's history — staged each time after a lecture or walk, in an evolving series of evenings.
