Walking and Talking is a roaming literary salon — a project that weaves poetry, history, and human stories into the landscapes that hold them. We move slowly through cities and hills, opening books in the places they were written, and listening for the voices the stones remember.
Each walk is composed like an essay — chapters of place, paragraphs of memory, footnotes etched in stone. Whether you join us in Hebrew or in English, the invitation is the same: to step inside the page.

בעקבות זאב בנימין הרצל ונפתלי הרץ אימבר בירושלים. שניים שהתגלגלו לארץ ישראל ממקומות שונים, ובכל זאת — חלום אחד משותף. שניהם שהו, חולים ואומללים, באותו בית מלון ברחוב הנביאים, וצפו ממנו בחלום שלא הספיקו להגשים. נקשיב לחלומות, אכזבות ותקוות של המנהיג והמשורר — הלבבות הפועמים, כי אין שלם מלב שבור.

Who was Miriam? Where did Rachel walk into the dying light? A walk through Rehavia and Sha'arei Hesed in the company of Else Lasker-Schüler, Rachel, Zelda, Miriam Yalan-Stekelis, Leah Goldberg and Yona Wallach — the women whose poems became the bedrock of Hebrew song.

נתן אלתרמן היה גדול מאהביה של תל אביב. כילד שנולד וגדל בה, הוא צמח לצידה ותיעד כל רגע, כל צבע וטעם. בבתי הקפה שבהם כתב, על ההליכות הליליות עם חברים בדרך שעוד נפקחת לאורך, האנשים והנשים שבחייו, והשיר האחרון שעדיין מהדהד בחיינו בארץ הזו.
Natan Alterman was Tel Aviv's great lover. We follow him through Gan Meir, Bialik Street, Trumpeldor cemetery and Habima — the cafés where he wrote, the friends he walked with at night, and the last poem that still echoes in our streets.

Between kurkar hills and orchard winds, between Hulda and the northern Negev, lie the landscapes of S. Yizhar's life. Pardes legends, a boy floating between treetops and bookshelves, the battles of '48 and his lifelong fight to save the wildflowers, agamas and ants of his Israel.

The place everyone wanted to reach and few ever did. The story of Jewish settlement in the Golan and the long dream of crossing the Jordan — from the First Aliyah to the visionaries of the Hauran. We end at Poriya beside the grave of one who chased the sun.

״יא חלילי יא עמלי״ שרו ברחובות המושבה שהייתה כור היתוך לאינספור סיפורים מימי ההתיישבות הראשונים. הגדולה במושבות הדרום שבה נרקמו אגדות ומיתוסים — רבנים, משוררים וסופרים בחרו ברחובות. בתי ראשונים יפהפיים, סיפורי אהבה וגבורה, חתונה אחת שכמותה לא ראה היישוב היהודי, שכונת תימנים, גואלי קרקעות ותאריך אחד שחרץ גורלות.
Ya Halili, Ya Amali — they sang in the streets of the moshava that became a crucible for the stories of the early settlement. The largest of the southern colonies, where rabbis, poets and novelists chose to live. A wedding the Yishuv had never seen, the Yemenite quarter, mythic land redeemers and a single date that decided fates.

Between Beit Alfa and Nahalal a dream of valley settlement was born. We wander inside the famous circle — past memorials, gardens, the synagogue and the hidden weapons cache — to the songs of Yonatan Geffen and Meir Ariel.

״אין כבר דרך חזרה״. נצא בעקבות תשעת הבילויים שזכו לאדמת גדרה ונספר במעללי אותה קבוצת סטודנטים צעירים — מה סיפרו עליהם ומה כתבו על עצמם לימים. איך התחיל הכל בגלל ״מסמר״ קטן, מה היה החלום שדחף אותם לארץ שממה, ובליל חורף אל בור באדמת המולדת באגדת נר שני של חנוכה.
No way back now. We follow the nine Bilu'im who reached Gedera — students who set out for an empty land because of one small nail, and arrived on the second night of Hanukkah to a hole in the earth and a candle held high.

A river that whispers legends. We walk along its banks across the Yarkon peninsula — birthplace of the Maccabiah, of a fair with a flying camel, of airfields and an improvised port, when a small city decided to take a short trip abroad.

A walk through Nachlaot and Zichronot — for decades home to the Banai family, Israel's Kennedys. The market, the smells, the courtyards and the people behind the songs and skits we know by heart. Harat al-Tank, Shevet Achim, and Pear Street that became Banai Street.
